The World's Languages

Our world has so many different languages. There are some that most of our population speaks and some that very few speak. We all know some language or the other. The world has about 6, 900 different languages and that's a lot. Did you know almost 10 languages become extinct every year and 2, 500 are threatened to be extinct? This means all of the world's wonderful languages are slowly disappearing.

Here are the top 5 most spoken languages:
1. Chinese
There are nearly 4 times as many speakers of Chinese than Spanish
2. Spanish
Almost 329 million people speak Spanish in 44 countries
3. English
English is spoken as a first language in about 112 countries
4. Arabic
221 million speakers in 57 countries across the Middle East and North Africa
5. Hindi
India has 445 living languages and Hindi is the most spoken

Have you ever learned a second language? English, French and German are the three most studied languages in the whole world. Spanish comes fourth but that is only in Europe. In the USA, Spanish comes first. In Europe, people from Luxembourg are the most multilingual. 99% speak at least one different language.

About 400 languages have at the least 1 million speakers. The amount left is the 6, 500 and only 6% speak those. 470 are endangered and a few old languages will survive.

Keep learning your languages! Now you can see how fast they are disappearing and this is the reason we should keep learning them!

Technology vs no Technology

Is a tech free world better than an environment with no screens and batteries? Let's find out!

Let's start with one simple question, what are technology's pros and cons? Well, technology entertains us for example watching TV and playing computer games. This can be a con because staring at a screen all day is bad for our eyes. Not only that but all our cell phones and laptops have a lot of radiation and radiation is very dangerous for our body. If you update an Apple device you can see they are placing a warning message about radiation. This especially relates to children who it can effect more. A pro about our cell phone is that if we need to call someone we have it ready in our pockets. This is handy. If you're in an emergency we can just take it out quickly and call someone. What about those people who are addicted to their phones and use it while driving? This is against the law and the government is enforcing the law to $1,000!

Now let's move on to a tech free world. A pro would be that our environment would be in perfect condition. This is great for our planet! A con is that technology has made life so much easier. When you don't know whether you should wear a jacket or not you can just check the weather channel or even better use your weather app. It can make things go faster. Another pro would be that no technology is better for our health. TV ruins our eyes, radiation is dangerous and so much more. Wouldn't no technology be nice? Maybe but what if we need to go to the doctor or hospital? No ambulance can take us and no cars either. At the hospital there will be no high tech labs and all. No machines, nothing. Will this really help us? No.

Is a tech free world better than technology? Maybe, maybe not. Maybe we need to keep some technology and kick out the rest that we don't need. Maybe we can change our uses of technology. Who knows?

P. S. I know I say using too much technology isn't good on my BLOG but I don't really even write on it that much. Just letting you know.
